| Triathlon Training Camps PRESS RELEASE: A Triathlon Camp that helps you realize a higher set of expectations for yourself. Our coaches coordinate safe and fun group training activities to help direct you toward success through a healthy triathlon lifestyle.
The Triathlete is a special breed stacking three physically exhausting events back-to-back into one daunting display of determination that has had most of us on the sidelines asking, "Why?" Some of us who get our workouts from either running, cycling or swimming - separate from each other and not all at once - end up asking "How?" It's hard enough to imagine what it might take to complete 26.2 miles of a marathon. For some, that's all they dream about doing. Add on a 2.5 -mile swim and a 112 bike ride and the goal looks more like a pipe dream of a fitness nut.
This is not so. Whereas it takes determination and long hours of training, triathletes are set apart mainly by a higher set of expectations for themselves. Most start out as people who have gotten into the fitness routine of either running, cycling or swimming. Being in a routine long enough allows for as series of fitness plateaus and new challenges to be set. Longer and more challenging routes inspire confidence and eventually a lighthearted competitive spirit develops. Its this intangible spirit that brings the recreational athlete into the realm of a whole new world.
Are you a little bit curious about the triathlon? Could this be one of those "crazy" ideas that pops into your head from time to time? Or maybe you're a recreational athlete who has been meaning to look into it. Well, Here is your chance to change your whole life. Triathlon LAB is offering an 8 - week Triathlon Camp this spring geared towards getting you ready to successfully participate in a triathlon this season, or to just get in shape. Throughout this 8 - week course, participants will experience a fun, noncompetitive training environment. Every Sunday morning, An experienced, friendly coaching staff will guide you through each of the three disciplines of the triathlon. You will learn all the separate components needed to become a competent triathlete. These include: exercise safety, warm-up and cool down techniques, core and flexibility training; form and swim stroke basics, swimming pool endurance training and ocean swimming; bike components and triathlon equipment preparation, form and basic bicycle handling, riding techniques, proper gear selection, cycling position and aero dynamics; running for performance, basic running form and endurance training; sub-max heart-rate training, hydration, nutrition and diet basics, stretching and weight training for triathletes, injury prevention, race transitioning techniques and post race recovery.
The Triathlon Camp is an ambitious undertaking in itself. Each of the Saturday's camps will be at a different location throughout Los Angeles area and the South Bay. Beginning July 8th, Camp participants will actually participate in group workouts, clinics with generous question and answer sessions afterwards. By the end of the 8 - week camp, you will be confident about your ability to participate in triathlons. You will begin to notice too that some natural by-products of the Triathlon Camp include: goal setting, self-confidence, self-discipline and better focus with a sense of profound personal achievement and satisfaction. Remember that "spirit" we were talking about earlier. Well, When you cross that Race Finish Line for the first time, you will get it.
*Not sure if your ready? Campers will be divided into groups to maximize coaching in each of the disciplines of swimming, cycling and running.
